This used to work ten days ago, but now does not:

Anyone else experiencing this?
I tried this on two computers (10.13 & 10.15) and it work fine on both machines.

Tested it on macOS 12 and with the German voice “Yannick” — works perfectly. Check settings in VoiceOver Utility!
Mac 10.15.3 Speak still not working. Other sounds OK, for instance PanX sounds register, but speaking does not work. Thanks for the feedback, gary and KJM. I have never used VoiceOver Utility to my knowledge and fiddling with its settings does not seem to make Speak work. Strange.
Mac 11.6. Works fine for me.
