Are there any particular limits that might be causing Panorama X to crash when importing a large text file into a new database? It is readable by BBEdit.
BBEdit shows it to have 1,544,232 lines
The Finder shows it at 284.8 MB with a .txt extension

The fix was editing the character that was used as a field delimeter.
The IRS was using the ‘|’ character and Panorama was crashing.
The 1,544,229 records are now usable.
Panorama has a limit of 4 megabytes per each individual cell. Perhaps with the incorrect delimiter it was producing cells larger than that? This is the first time I’ve ever heard of that situation.
There is no absolute limit on the total size or number of records. The largest I’ve heard of was a customer that imported a 62Gb data set. They were using a Mac Pro with 1.5 Tb of RAM, so they had no problems fitting in that amount of data.
Another customer imported a text file that contained an entry for every cell tower in the United States. I don’t remember how many records it was, but it was over 30 Gb of text. The customer had first tried to import this text into Excel, which instantly crashed.
