Rotated Text Not Printing

I used Hugo’s suggestion for rotating text from the prior thread using a web browser object. It works nicely on my computer display, but it doesn’t seem to print the resultant text output. Does anyone have a suggestion or workaround to get the text to print as displayed?

Here’s the displayed text on my deposit ticket:

Here’s the output in Preview and that’s the same on paper:

it’s impossible to tell for sure by what you’ve provided, but I see what looks like a scroll bar in your output. And there’s no indication of the actual size you’ve set in which the text is to be printed. Have you tried enlarging the Web Object just to see if that’s the issue?

I’ve tried moving and resizing the object. It shows what I want it to on the form, but Preview One Record and Open in Preview as a pdf show the phantom graphic - either an unneeded scroll bar or header. I’ve tried changing the settings in Appearance and Special Properties, but the text never appears - just the borders are more or less visible depending on the choices there.

I’m going with the explanation that it is a “Web Object” meaning it works best for displaying on browsers and the internet, but was not meant for printing the way the other text display and editor objects behave. Maybe Jim knows if that’s accurate

If you are only printing a few numerals, another option might be to look for a font that is sideways characters.

If you - or anyone - have a suggestion for such a font, I would love to hear of it. I’ve scoured the legit and scammy free font sites periodically for nearly 20 years and come up empty every time. Including recently.

In the Pan 6 and earlier days, numerals rotated in Photoshop printed crisply, but in Pan X they come out so fuzzy as to be almost unreadable. I’ve tried enlarging them and using scaling to shrink them on the printouts, etc, etc, to no avail. Same with various image formats vs text display elements.

I am not certain why images now import into Panorama X at 72 dpi. I am pretty sure that has not been the case in the past. Perhaps someone at the WWDC could explain it.

There are a number of things that other apps can do that Panorama does not seem to be able to do. There are other things that suddenly stopped working in MacOS as well. I have an iOS app that worked on my M1 MacBook Air that no longer works in MacOS. I am also concerned that interface things that seem to be built in to other apps, like the date picker, are not available in Panorama.

When I got a background to print out properly in Panorama X, it was by converting a PDF to a 360 dpi TIF, importing it, which made a huge image, and shrinking it in Panorama to 20% size.

Doh! I overlooked that part. It is correct that Web Objects do not print…

I can verify this. The content of Web Objects is handled by Apple, and I have been unable to figure out how to get Apple’s code to handle printing.
