A new feature appeared today. I have 24 Panorama X Account Status windows that have appeared. I can not seem to find the one that will let me acknowledge the situation. Each just beeps as there is probably another that is in front of it. I must now Force Quit and hope for something better.
Well, it’s been an hour - did something better happen?
I checked your account, you have plenty of balance.
I have not heard of that before, so I don’t have a ready made solution. Let me take a shot in the dark - perhaps your preferences are corrupted. There is no way to uncorrupt them, but they can be deleted using these steps.
• If it is open, Quit from Panorama X
• Open a new window in the Finder
• Choose “Go To Folder” from the “Go” menu
• Enter ~/Library/Preferences/ and press the “Go” button
• Find the file “com.provue.PanoramaX.plist” and move it to the trash
• Relauch Panorama X (this will automatically create new, default preferences)
• Log into your Panorama account
If you’ve set up any options in the Panorama X preferences window, you will need to set them up again.
Ok. I’ve just checked my balance. I only wanted to purchase 60 months, not 120 months. My bank said the first payment was suspicious and did not go through so I attempted it a 2nd time. Apparently it did go through.
I am presuming that I received a payment needed window for every window or db that was open at the time. Perhaps the procedure should check to see if a payment window has already exists in another open db.
No, that’s a modal window, there’s only one no matter how many databases are open.
I don’t understand why you think there might have been more than one payment window when you say you deliberately submitted the payment twice due to misinformation from your bank.
What do you mean the bank said it was suspicious? Did they send you a text message or something? According to Stripe (the credit card processing service we use) the first payment went through fine. I assume Panorama told you the payment was accepted and immediately showed the new balance.
The second charge has been refunded and your Panorama account balance has been adjusted.
There were 24 modal Payment Required windows. I was unable to find a way to close them.
When I Force Quit and restarted Panorama, I immediately made use of the Subscription window to make a payment. Panorama said all was fine. My bank sent me a text saying that a suspicious payment request was made and that the payment was not made. It had me call my bank. I affirmed that the payment was intended. I then in Panorama did the payment again as the bank said that the first one was declined due to it being suspicious. Later I heard I had plenty of months in my account, I verified that I did not immediately need 120 months sitting in my ProVUE account. I love the program and my monthly account usage will soon be growing several times over but just not yet.
Do you mean the window that shows the photo puzzle? If so, there was obviously something very wrong if there was more than one of those. I’m not surprised you had to Force Quit.
My bank sent me a text saying that a suspicious payment request was made and that the payment was not made.
That’s very weird because on our end the payment went thru immediately.
Well, that’s why we have the ability to manually reverse a transaction when needed. Fortunately, it’s rare - this is the first one in over a year.
That sounds exciting!
Yes, the photo puzzle window. I was going to try to tile them to show the majesty of the situation but got frustrated by their modal attribute of not changing layer.
Re account usage growing… That what happens when I keep answering the phone. I will admit though that I’ve often recognized that the pleasures that ProVUE software has given me has allowed me to question whether what I do is work or play. I so much enjoy creating solutions with Panorama that I often do not think I am really working. More just solving puzzles.
When my 40 year ProVUE birthday passed last October, I did silently give thought for all that ProVUE has allowed me to do. It has been a wonderful journey that I will forever be grateful for.
Wow, thank you!
I enjoy creating solutions with Panorama myself I think what makes it so fun is that it is so fast and interactive. Sure, a tool like Xcode with ObjC or Swift is much more powerful, but also much more cumbersome - waiting for compiles, having to relaunch over and over again for each change. With Panorama you can just make a change and usually instantly see the result. So fun.
