A new Panorama X release is now available. Most users can simply let Panorama automatically update. If you have any problems with the automatic update, the direct download link is:
Or, you can simply go to http://www.provue.com and download the trial version, which is the same version.
This release includes a handful of fixes.
Fixed and enhanced the drop to recompile feature in the Preferences window. 1) It now works without an error. 2) It no longer removes saved window configuration from recompiled databases. 3) It’s now possible to recompile multiple databases with the same name in a single batch.
Using the save statement when the database has no visible windows no longer clears out the list of saved windows. Instead, the previous list of saved windows is left undisturbed. So if you opensecret, modify, save and close, then re-open the database normally, the previously saved windows will open.
The Dialog Workshop window now works again.
Double chevron notation has been fixed in these 6 functions: aggregate(, arraybuild(, arrayselectedbuild(, dataarraybuild(, dataarrayselectedbuild(, superlookup(.
The moverecordup/down statements now throw an appropriate error if used in a shared database.
The saveandclose statement now properly returns the error if the specified database is not open.
Fixed problem closing shared databases when Panorama is not the frontmost application.
The Channel preferences panel is now more “bulletproof” in regards to possible code errors.
Documentation corrections from Peter Newble, Kurt Meyer.
Sorry to report that shared files that open with a form, present a Progress window that doesn’t go away on its own. Opening a set of shared files leaves a stack of them hanging around.
Of course, clicking on one makes the Progress menu available and choosing Close All Progress Windows is a quick solution.
I have uploaded a new build 4550 that fixes this problem. Since this only affects a handful of people, I’m not going to release it in the main update feed. But you can manually install it thru the Check for Updates panel with this link:
While trying unsuccessfully to get a machine running Panorama b41 to NOT check for b42 updates every time it starts, I found that choosing Include Beta Versions reverts the download window to version 10.1.2.
