Panorama X 10.2.0 b42 Build 4548 Release Notes

A new Panorama X release is now available. Most users can simply let Panorama automatically update. If you have any problems with the automatic update, the direct download link is:

https://www.provue.com/downloads/sparkle/PanoramaX/4548/PanoramaX.zip

Or, you can simply go to http://www.provue.com and download the trial version, which is the same version.

This release includes a handful of fixes.

  • Fixed and enhanced the drop to recompile feature in the Preferences window. 1) It now works without an error. 2) It no longer removes saved window configuration from recompiled databases. 3) It’s now possible to recompile multiple databases with the same name in a single batch.
  • Using the save statement when the database has no visible windows no longer clears out the list of saved windows. Instead, the previous list of saved windows is left undisturbed. So if you opensecret, modify, save and close, then re-open the database normally, the previously saved windows will open.
  • The Dialog Workshop window now works again.
  • Double chevron notation has been fixed in these 6 functions: aggregate(, arraybuild(, arrayselectedbuild(, dataarraybuild(, dataarrayselectedbuild(, superlookup(.
  • The moverecordup/down statements now throw an appropriate error if used in a shared database.
  • The saveandclose statement now properly returns the error if the specified database is not open.
  • Fixed problem closing shared databases when Panorama is not the frontmost application.
  • The Channel preferences panel is now more “bulletproof” in regards to possible code errors.
  • Documentation corrections from Peter Newble, Kurt Meyer.

Sorry to report that shared files that open with a form, present a Progress window that doesn’t go away on its own. Opening a set of shared files leaves a stack of them hanging around.

Of course, clicking on one makes the Progress menu available and choosing Close All Progress Windows is a quick solution.

I can duplicate this IF the forms have the tool bar turned off. If the tool bar is visible, then this problem doesn’t occur. Can you verify this?

Also, can you verify that b42 fixes the problem you had closing shared databases when Panorama is not the frontmost application?

Yes, the tool bar and scroll bars are off.

That problem is fixed.

I have a client who is experiencing the same problem with the progress bar. His tool bar is turned off.

The problems I’d had brought on by B40 and B41 are gone with B42.

I enabled the tool bar for them and the progress bar issue went away.

I have uploaded a new build 4550 that fixes this problem. Since this only affects a handful of people, I’m not going to release it in the main update feed. But you can manually install it thru the Check for Updates panel with this link:

Or you can manually download it with this link:

The Progress windows no longer linger :grinning:

While trying unsuccessfully to get a machine running Panorama b41 to NOT check for b42 updates every time it starts, I found that choosing Include Beta Versions reverts the download window to version 10.1.2.

Hey Jim,

FWIW, I ran into this issue upon updating to b42, and the “4550” revision addresses the issue for me, as well.

Note: for me they had also stopped “progressing…” Now, they do.
Thanks, Jim!

So is this version now compatible with macOS Sequoia 15.1.1, or are there glitches.

There are no “glitches” related to Sequoia that I am aware of.

The solution to this was to release a non-beta version. So this problem should now be solved.
