I’m adding files to our new Panorama Server, and all of them are fine except for the “P & L’s” database. It loads to the server, but the server can’t open it. Is that because of the & in the file name?
I don’t know of any reason why an & character would be a problem, but I’m not sure I’ve ever actually tried one.
But what do you mean “it loads to the server, but the server can’t open it”? How do you know it can’t load it?
I tried to duplicate your problem, and I succeeded. The problem isn’t the & character, it’s the smart quote.
To fix it, first unshare the database. Then re-open the Database Options dialog, and in Server Database Name field, get rid of the smart quote. You don’t have to rename the database itself, though you can if you want to go that route.
Now you’ll be able to upload the database to the server without problems.
Note that on the client, the database still contains the smart quote, but on the server it doesn’t. This means that you won’t have to change any lookups( or other formulas or code that references this database.
