My file is damaged -Data.Plist- & can't be repaired

I’m using OS 14.6.1 and the b39. Works fine here on M2 MacMini.

I’m sure you’re right, Jim!

I’m using 10.2.0 on MacOS 14.7 (and about to upgrade to Sequoia). Thank you for this simple, quick solution. After checking several monthly archives of my database – each with the pop-up The document “…” could not be opened. The database is damaged (data.plist). I un-checked the “Check database integrity…” tick in my preferences, advanced, closed, quit, and reopened with the database, and all was right with the world again! Many thanks for an exceptional database tool!

This worked for me and has stayed working for two weeks. Uncheck “check database integrity…”

Sheldon, that’s fine if you want to do that. But for anyone coming along later reading this, turning off this option is not a recommended best practice. The only legit reason why you would ever see a false “database is damaged” error is if you are using both an older and a newer version of Panorama on your computer. I highly recommend that everyone get rid of any older copies of Panorama X on their computer. macOS is rapidly evolving and the older versions have a lot of problems that could snag you. Just get rid of the older versions and only use the latest version. If you’re doing that, you can leave the check integrity option on and you won’t get any false errors. But if your database actually does get damaged (for example a disk failure), you’ll get an immediate warning, and Panorama will ensure that damaged data is never written to the disk. So the safer practice is to enable this option.
