I have just received the very sad news that Michael Kellock passed away peacefully on May 31st. His wife passed along that he wanted me to know that he enjoyed the ride, and loved being part of the Panorama community. For many years he was one of the most active members here on this forum, with a total of 1,860 posts over the years. i think that puts him in the top handful of posters (though there doesn’t seem to be any easy way to verify that). In fact, I can only find three members with more posts (or 4 if you count myself). Over the years Michael submitted 708 corrections to the Panorama documentation, as well as a number of custom statements. In fact he really pushed me into properly documenting the technique for adding and testing custom statements. I believe he also privately helped some of the members here with their database projects. Michael will be missed, our community was richer for his decision to participate in it. By the way, Michael was also one of the most far afield members of our community, he lived outside of Melbourne, Australia. So unfortunately I never did get to meet him in person.
Michael was very kind and sharing, while having great knowledge in his favorite specialization of math.
He will be missed. Thank you Michael for joining us and always giving back more than you took.
Interesting, that screenshots shows Michael created 1.2k posts, but in the admin interface it says 1,680 posts. All of the other stats match up.
51 likes received is amazing - the like feature isn’t widely used on this forum for some reason, so that stat says so much.
That stat seems to be low for everyone. Your stat for example says 6.3k, but the actual number is 8022.
If it hadn’t been for Michael I would never had been able to fully benefit the power of Panorama. He was always 24/7 willing to work with me writing a procedure that would solve the task I had. My very sincere condolences to his wife and children. Gracias amigo por todo. Rest in Peace.
