I would like to make a screen recording to upload here to illustrate an issue. Using Quicktime only offers a .mov file, which I can’t upload. Can someone suggest a way to do this?
The only type of file that this forum will accept for upload is image files – .jpg, .png, or .gif. A .gif can be an animated .gif, so that’s the one way you can get a movie directly into the forum. One way to do that is using Claquette, and ScreenFlow can also export recordings as animated GIFs. I’m sure there are other ways to do it.
If you have a YouTube account, uploading there and posting the link is also a great option, as Thomas has done.
I’m sure the SketchUp bulletin board uses the same software, and a lot of people there have used LICEcap for making screen GIFs.
