Data Sheet divider gutted

In Pan 6, one could divide the data sheet into two sections each with a horizontal scroll bar. That way I could see the product name on the left side and the ending inventory count, some 20 fields over, on the right. It looks like I now have to hide numerous fields temporarily to monthly enter ending inventory or edit any other fields that or to the right of the screen size.

Dividing the data sheet into two panes was a nice trick in Pan6 which PanX wasn’t able to replicate. With work you could create a form with a two text lists objects displaying subsets of your fields and other objects to allow input into the current record displayed on those lists. But for most purposes hiding and showing fields on the data sheet, so just what you need are displayed, will serve your purpose. Field menu’s Hide/Show Fields… will let you check/uncheck which to show fairly efficiently. And if you need a complex selection repeatedly, it does let you set Favorites for what’s showing.

Or write procedures to show/hide specific fields and assign hotkeys to them, then you can swap between different subsets of the datasheet instantly. I have done this in the past and it works well.

Panorama 6 was last released 15 years ago. There were extensive discussions of Panorama 6 vs. Panorama X on this forum from 2015 to 2020, including this exact topic. It appears that you’re just making the transition from 6 to X now, so these topics are new to you, but they are ancient history for everyone else here. These topics are not going to be relitigated. There are differences between Panorama 6 and X, as you would expect from a completely rebuilt product on a completely different foundation. Asking questions is one thing, but posts along the lines of “Panorama X is gutted” are not constructive or welcome.
