In using the Auxiliary feature to open a database in lieu of an opensecret statement in the .Initialize procedure, I always receive a notification ‘Initialize Error [DB Name] TopDataWindow failed because database [dbname] does not have an open data sheet or any open windows’. The auxiliary database does open without windows as intended.
That notification seems unnecessary to me, but maybe it’s useful in beta software. Someday I would hope it goes away. Or am I missing something?
I just tested that setup: I setup an auxiliary database to open without windows, saved and closed the original database.
I did not get that error message when I reopened my database. Memory Usage shows that the auxiliary database is open indeed.
