Panorama X 0.9.006 Build 2605 Release Notes

Panorama X 0.9.006 is now available. You can download this new version from the web site, or you can simply launch your current version of Panorama X and let it automatically update. If Panorama X is already running, choose Check for Updates in the Panorama menu.

This release contains a handful of bug fixes.

  • The Maximum command now works correctly if all numeric values are negative.

  • When in a form, removed keyboard equivalents for Move Record Up/Move Record Down. This allows Command-Up/Command-Down to move the insertion point in the text, which is what is expected. These shortcuts still work in the data sheet to move the current record.

  • Panorama now automatically closes the current text editing session (in a form) if you perform an operation that will move the database from the current record, including add record, insert record, delete record, find next/previous, sort, group, etc.

  • Added new statement FixSuperDates, and updated documentation to indicate that this must be used when upgrading a database that contains SuperDates from Panorama 6 to Panorama X.

  • The Morph Field Dialog now always displays an error notification if you try to use it on a binary field, even if Do Not Disturb is enabled.

  • The Running Total command now handles summary records exactly the same way that Panorama 6 did. Note: This isn’t really correct for multi-level summaries, nor was it ever documented to work for multi-level summaries, or any summaries.

  • The Panorama Video Training wizard now defaults to All Skill Levels instead of Beginner when first opened.

  • Minor documentation corrections.

By the way, this release provided the first opportunity to test that the “update without asking” option had been removed from the auto-update dialog, and it appears that that option has been correctly removed. So hopefully this will eliminate the problems with updates that a few of you have experienced.
