Setting field to number in a procedure

Would like to be able to change fields to numbers in procedures

I’m not quite sure what you are asking, do you want to change a text field to a numeric field? If so, here is how you do that, either:

fieldtype "Integer"

or

fieldtype "Float"

If that is not what your question means, please give us more details.
